I showed my work as part of Art Attack, the open studio event in the Northrup King building in Northeast Minneapolis. Photographers and Graphic Designers James and Laurie Gross have generously lent me space in their studio to show during this prime event showcasing the work of 80 professional artists. Come see all of us at JG Studios, #431/435.

I also showed my work in the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association's Fall Fine Art Show. This event gets bigger every year, showing a work sample from many of the artists that participate in NEMAA's spring event, Art-A-Whirl. It's a terrific visual sampler for those of you that may have missed or would like another taste of Art-A-Whirl. This year's event will again be held in the Grain Belt Bottling House.

I am pleased to have been invited to join the Art Collective Gallery in Northeast Minneapolis! I have been juried into the "Vessels" exhibit there. I will be showing work there regularly (as soon as I get enough made).

My involvement with Art-A-Whirl is featured in Minnesota's Women Press.

A select number of my pieces are on display at Cloudcroft Gallery and Gift, a new shop in the mountain resort village of Cloudcroft New Mexico.

My April 2002 show at the Frank Stone Gallery was wildly successful. The weather was beautiful, everyone had a great time at the opening, and lots of people bought sculpture!

I'm off to New Mexico for a short trip to get inspired by the Southwest as well as to do some artbusiness. I'm putting my work in a new gallery called Cloudcroft Gallery and Gift. Cloudcroft is a great small town in the mountains in the southern part of the state. The people there are wonderful. Hopefully the travelers and locals there will like my work as much as my friends and collectors in Minneapolis.

Look for an article about women artists and their involvement in Art-A-Whirl in the May 8th issue of the Minnesota Women's Press. Metal worker Lisa Elias, NK building manager and arts booster Deb White, and myself were interviewed for this article on how Art-A-Whirl changed our lives.

I will have selected works on view at the Frank Stone Gallery during Art-A-Whirl 2002. The gallery is hosting a group show of all those artists that exhibited during their spring series. Big Medicine will be on display again as well as a couple of new medium sized works. Frank Stone Gallery is located at 1226, 2nd Street NE, Minneapolis.

Art-A-Whirl hours are Friday, May 17 from 6 to 9pm, Saturday May 18, from noon to 8pm, and Sunday May 19 from noon to 5pm. For more information about the AAW extravaganza, (including maps!) and information about the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association, see www.art-a-whirl.org.
