"I am inspired by the feeling of raw clay in my hands and the sensual quality of the finished piece in other people's hands. I make small, organic shaped gourds, fruit and eggs that call out to be picked up, smelled for their smoky remnants, and rattled for the seed inside. My larger figurative pieces evoke pre-Colombian, mythic and whimsical personalities. Each is hand-built, distinctive, and expresses emotion through gesture."
